Create a wintery, holiday masterpiece on a canvas while enjoying some delicious cupcakes. Custom Kicks Thursday, September 2, 6 PM Heading back to school but can't find a pair of shoes that fits your personal style? Never fear! For this hour of fun, we will use paint, sharpies, and other creative mediums to create a pair of your very own customized sneakers! All materials are provided. LED Parachutes Thursday, October 7, 4 PM Make your own LED Parachute while learning about electric circuits with Sally Hennessy, 4-H STEM Program Assistant OSU Extension. This program is for tweens in grades 4-6. Registration is required. Minecraft Mania Thursday, 11/18, 12/16, 4 PM Join us on Zoom to play Minecraft in a one-of-a-kind experience. Minecraft Mania allows participants of all experience levels to complete challenges within Minecraft! Using multiplayer gameplay, participants will work together to accomplish goals in competition and adventure-style programs. Every program consists of different challenges! Beginners will be introduced to the game, and the advanced gamers will have their opportunity to put their Minecraft expertise to the test. The first half hour is reserved for troubleshooting and tech help. Grades 4-8. Registration is required. ALL AGES & FAMILY PROGRAMS TWEEN PROGRAMS Family Fort Night Friday, September 17, 6:15 PM Have you ever wanted to cozy up with a book in your own little fort in the Library? Now is your chance! The whole family is invited to create a fort in the Library after hours and share stories together. Wear your pajamas and bring your favorite sheets, blankets, and pillows. We will have extra fort-building materials available. Harry Potter Cooking Challenge Thursday, October 21, 6 PM at Midview High School, Room 212 When in doubt, go to the Library...to test your Harry Potter cooking abilities! Chopped meets the Wizarding World where teams of three will be competing against one another in three Harry Potter themed cooking challenges. Participants will prepare an appetizer, entree, and dessert course. Please bring your own pantry ingredients from home but be prepared to transfigure our mystery basket ingredients. Pumpkin Palooza Friday, November 12, 5 PM at Midview High School, Room 212 Oh my gourdness, it's pumpkin season! Celebrate the best time of the year by creating pumpkin rolls and pumpkin sugar cookies. Replicate the recipes at home in a few weeks for your Thanksgiving feast! Please bring a 15 x 10 inch jelly-roll pan with you. The Library will supply the rest. Holiday Mini Golf Saturday, December 4, 11 AM - 4 PM Help us tee off the holiday season by playing mini golf in the Library! Drop in between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM to putt a round and enjoy some hot chocolate. All ages can expect a "hole" lot of fun! Read Across the Ages Monday, December 6, 6 PM Join us for this special all ages book discussion. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, we will explore a variety of stories at varied levels for every reader. This program is ideal for families, but anyone is welcome to read and attend. Participants are welcome to create projects based on the readings and share them at the event. Holiday Cookie Extravaganza Friday, December 10, 6:30 PM Who is ready for some ho-ho-holiday cookies? Come to the Grafton-Midview Public Library with two dozen of your favorite holiday cookies prepared to share! You'll be heading home with a bag full of cookies and a warm heart of giving as well as receiving some yummy treats this holiday season. Programs require registration unless otherwise notated. Register for programs starting August 18.
