Stop by the library to pick up your brochure starting Tuesday, September 2nd at 9:30 AM. All ages are welcome. +This program was generously sponsored by Always Best Care of Grafton Plant & Seed Swap Saturday, October 11, 11 AM - 3 PM An open house seed and plant swap - open for all ages. As you collect seeds from your plants before the fall frost and while you are digging and dividing your perennials, stop in to share with others and maybe take home something new for your garden. Bring a plant, take a plant! FROM THE DIRECTOR Healthy Homestyle Soups Tuesday, September 23, 5:30 PM Come stir up something delicious with us, and learn to make two different delicious soups! Vegetable Cabbage Soup & Zuppa Toscana soup. Welcome to fall, everyone! It was a busy summer for us, and I hope you attended one of our excellent programs, checked out a Hotspot device for your vacation, and enjoyed our air-conditioned building! I especially enjoyed watching our cleverly painted rocks turn into a snake of great length, hanging outside our building. Thank you for participating in this fun community endeavor. In September, we celebrate Library Card Sign-Up, aka the best card in your wallet. If you are new to the area, or know someone who is, please let them know they can come in for a free card. Or you can go to our website at www.gmplibrary.org and sign up for a digital card to access online services. Unfortunately, I must make you aware of changes to our funding with the new approved biennial budget in Columbus, beginning July 1 (FY26). Ohio’s public libraries, are facing a reduction in funding compared to the previous year. Alongside this, the closing of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), a federal agency, will have a significant impact on the Grafton-Midview Public Library, and all libraries nationwide. To continue our services at the current level, we must go on the ballot and ask our community to approve a replacement of our 1.25 mill levy, plus additional .25 mill in November. Please, go and vote this November! - Adele Infante
