Services
Notary Services
The Grafton-Midview public Library offers free Notary Public services for the benefit of the residents of our communities. Library notaries are scheduled to work during regular hours of operation, but we do not guarantee that a Notary is on staff at all hours. Library notaries do not notarize real estate documents. Please call us at 440.926.3317 to verify if a notary is available.
Passport Services
The Library makes it easier to plan your next trip. Passport processing and photos are available at GMPL Monday - Saturday. Appointments are strongly recommended, but walk-in times may be available. Please call the Library to start the scheduling process. Additionally, we can help you find important travel information including travel guides and foreign language instruction. Please visit the U.S. Department of State Passport site or call the library for complete information on what you need to bring to apply for a passport.
GMPL does not provide digital photographs for online passport renewal requirements.
If you are traveling internationally you might be able to use the Mobile Passport Control app, available from US Customs and Border Patrol (Apple/Android).
Tech Tutor
Tech Tutor appointments are 1-on-1 classes with Information staff. Contact the Library by phone at 440.926.3317 or visit the Information Desk to register. Information Desk staff is always available during library hours to help with computer and technology questions, both basic and advanced. The Grafton-Midview Public Library encourages patrons with any questions to visit/call/email the library to get answers to computer and technology questions. More advanced or complex support might require an additional Tech Tutor appointment(s).
Teacher Resources
Did you know that we offer educator cards with extended loan periods? These cards are offered to teachers, homeschooling parents, and day care staff members. We hope this service will allow you to provide quality materials to your pupils, while reducing the worry of reaching the maximum lending limits on your personal account.
If you have a project coming up you can contact the children's librarians by calling 440.926.3317 or emailing youthservices@gmplibrary.org to have books pulled for your class.
Youth Services staff are also available to visit your classroom. We are more than happy to give booktalks, introducing students to great new materials, including graphic novels and audiobooks. We can talk to your class about our homework resources, give a presentation on navigating the catalog, or discuss how to successfully search for information on any of our databases. You can call or email us to inquire about a classroom visit.
Educator Cards
Grafton-Midview Public Library provides a separate library card account to teachers and home educators (Pre-K-12th grade). We hope this service will allow you to provide quality materials to your pupils, while reducing the worry of reaching the maximum lending limits on your personal account.
In order to qualify for an Educator card you must:
- Show proof of affiliation with school (name badge, pay stub, etc.) or letter of homeschooling status.
- Assume responsibility for damaged and lost item fees accrued on this account.
Items on Educator Cards have an extended check-out period to accommodate your needs. In order to ensure that others have access to these materials we will allow one renewal, however, we do not allow for new materials that are considered non-educational to be checked out onto accounts of this type. You may have up to a maximum of 50 items and the loan times by item type are shown below.
| Item Type | Length of Loan |
|---|---|
| Adult and Juvenile Books, Audiobooks, and Playaways | 6 Weeks |
| Magazines | 3 Weeks |
| New Music CDs | 1 Week |
| Regular Music CDs | 3 Weeks |
| NewDVDs and Blu-Rays | Cannot be checked out on this account type |
| Regular DVDs and Blue Rays | 3 Weeks |
| Video Games | Cannot be checked out on this account type |
The Youth Services and Reference staff would be glad to help pull resources for any upcoming projects you may have. In order to give staff members adequate time to process materials for any holds, please give us 48 hours’ notice. A staff member will notify you when your items are available for checkout and we will hold items for 3 days. Items unclaimed after 3 days will be put back into circulation.
Due to the size of our collection and high demand for particular themes and subjects, we may not be able to accommodate all requests and staff reserves the right to limit the number of items selected.
